From Wisconsin, Thomas earned his BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and His MFA from the University of Illinois.  He came to Boston in 1969 after teaching art and design at Cornell University.  He has been a member of the Copley Society of Artists in Boston where he achieved Copley Master status, a past president of the New England Watercolor Society and a distinguished artist of the Concord Art Association.

Now residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Thomas maintains signature memberships in the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society, Palm Beach Watercolor Society, Miami Watercolor Society and the Broward Art Guild. He has won numerous awards in these organizations, as well as, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, the Cambridge Art Association and the Cape Cod Art Association.

He has held several solo exhibitions, and his work is represented in many permanent private and corporate collections throughout the country and abroad.

Thomas’ watercolors have been widely published locally, nationally and internationally.
